Briggs & Stratton Elite Series Portable Generator Reviews

Satisfied customers of  Briggs & Stratton Elite Series 30242 with 8,750 Watt 11 HP OHV Gas Powered Portable Generator stated that it is a very nice machine. You will not lose power for any great length of time and it gives you just enough power for the essentials. It has an electric starter that’s super convenient. It is easy to assemble, and after filling the oil reservoir, it starts on the very first pull.

This portable generator runs very quietly for an engine of this size. The Briggs and Stratton generator works perfectly and it makes you feel very secure knowing that the next blackout will not affect the normal functions of your home. The float charger keeps the battery well charged and it starts on the first or second try every time.

Some customers wished that the noise output didn’t exceed 100 decibels and few complained that the battery obviously cannot be mounted on the generator and the packaging does not provide adequate protection for the contents. Assembly was easy enough but the bracket that holds the rubber feet did not have a hole to bolt into and the instruction says you have to loosen a vibration mount that attaches to the generator motor to install the rubber hoot bracket.

Briggs & Stratton Elite Series 30242 gas powered portable generator got an average rating of 3.8 out of 5 stars from its online reviewers. Overall, it’s a good portable generator that’s easy to set up and runs in no time. It has nice power output for its size and it’s portable enough for women so they won’t be left in the dark without the means.

Although it weighs almost 200 pounds, the wheels make it easily movable. It has all of the features which are easy to work and you don’t need any special knowledge of mechanics to get the job done. Anytime you need it, it comes through like a champ.

The Briggs & Stratton 30242 generator is currently sold out. You may check Generac 5623 GP6500 Generator as an alternative.
